Heroes of the Day: Veterans of the Attack on Pearl Harbor

Much of the posts written on Skip To My Lank are lighthearted. Jokes fly, sarcasm is abound, and hopefully you get a smile every now and then from reading.

This isn't going to be one of those posts.

Without getting overly sentimental or trying to make anyone feel like a bad person, we just want to take a moment to recognize and remember those who were at Pearl Harbor when it was attacked on December 7th, 1941. Many lost their lives, many did not; but they all deserve our respect and admiration. Up until the horrible events of 9/11, nothing could match the devastation that was felt after the Japanese navy bombed away on the unsuspecting U.S. Naval base. Events such as these should never be forgotten, and anniversaries such as these remind us that we owe a huge debt to our military men and women, both past and present.

Service people, thank you for all that you do, have done, and will do. You are the backbone of this great nation, and we appreciate you.
