Look, I know nobody likes getting swindled, gypped, or ripped off. But let's be real; if you're in the Harris Teeter, Old Navy, Taco Bell, or any other fine establishments such as those, there is NO reason to sit at the end of the register/counter to double-check your receipt. You sat there and watched them, with your own eyes, as they rang up everything. Why didn't you catch it then? And if you didn't catch anything, why must you go through the receipt again? All you're doing is holding up the line, humiliating the cashier, and making yourself look like a distrustful miser. Please, for yourself and for others, stop.
People have this idea of everyone trying to screw them out of something at every turn. It's the same reason that girls don't trust their boyfriends, bosses don't trust their employees, and wannabe political scientists don't trust their elected officials. I get that. Those things I just mentioned are relatively important, so I understand your need to be thorough there. However, there is no reason not to trust the cashiers at low-level stores. I've been one, and I can tell you that we don't get paid any extra for ripping you off. There's no incentive. None. Zero. So even if Troy, the cashier at Taco Bell, charged you for an extra taco, you're only out of 89 cents. Who knows, maybe Troy is a saint and will even give you the extra taco to make up for his (unintentional) error. Even if he doesn't, 89 cents isn't worth holding up the people who are waiting patiently behind you while you read your receipt for the 3rd time. Keep it movin', sister.
Oh, and thanks for shopping with us; please come back soon.

You realize you are talking about your grandma don't you???
Yes, I do. But that doesn't excuse her behavior, haha. I'm trying to get her out of that habit.
